YOU ARE MY LETTER

YOU ARE MY LETTER

“Do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you or from you? You are our letter, written on our hearts.” (2 Corinthians 3:1)

The sermon of Auxiliary Bishop Tenhumberg on September 20, 1968 at the funeral of Father Kentenich in the Adoration Church on Mount Schoenstatt culminates with these words of St. Paul.

“You are my letter …” We imagine that our founder addresses these words to us fifty years after his passage into eternity. It is meant for us. We should be such letters from him. But he has already written many authentic letters “in living hearts.” In the following months we will be able to read six letters here, testimonies of lives lived in unity with him, the father of the Schoenstatt Family – letters which in many ways, reflect the ideal of everyday sanctity as he teaches it to us.
